BAJURA, SEPTEMBER 25
An entire village has been badly affected by viral fever at Matesangu of Khaptadchhededaha Rural Municipality in Bajura.
Two persons died due to the fever. The deceased have been identified as Saura Devi Budha, 49, and Kul Bahadur Shahi, 62, of the village. Budha died some four days ago while Shahi died last night. More than 160 families in the village fell ill.
A local Ganesh Bahadur Shahi said that the viral fever had gripped the village. He said that most of the family members had fallen ill due to the fever. The locals complained that health workers had yet to reach the fever affected areas even though a week had already passed.
Meanwhile, Health Office, Bajura, Chief Mahesh Chand said that preparations were under way to send health workers to the affected areas. He said that a two-member health workers team from Khaptadchhededaha Rural Municipality was sent to the viral fever affected areas.

Elderly citizens, children, and patients with chronic diseases have badly been affected. The locals said that it was very difficult to reach the health post as most of the family members were ill. The health post is one kilometre away from the village.
A local, Ganesh Shahi, said that no health workers' team had reached the village even though they had informed the local level about the viral fever. He added that there was no one to offer even water to the patients in some households.
Rural municipality Chairman Dil Bahadur Rawat said that health workers team was sent to the affected areas.

Viral Fever Spreads Across Town,1000 People Affected Everyday
Hazaribag town and adjacent villages are affected with viral fever. More than 1000 patients are coming for the treatment at SBMCH. The whole campus seems to be full with viral patients. This time the viral fever is different from the normal fever.
As per the sources of SBMCH (Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College and Hospital maximum patients who are coming to the hospital affected with viral fever. The campus of the hospital is always full of patients.
The hospital superintendent said that due to the rush of patients we have increased the number of doctors on duty, so that they can entertain every patient.
Hospital sources said that daily 800 to 1000 patients are coming to the hospital. They are mostly from the village areas and the town. The doctors said that there are so many examples where whole family members have suffered from the viral fever.
The district administration has ordered the civil surgeon office that at least one dozen medical teams must be sent to the most affected villages of the district and treat them on the spot.
Dr. Praveen Nath of SBMCH said that the viral fever is due to the change of season. He further said that this time the viral fever is differ from the normal fever. The patients are facing viral facing high fever and also body pain and cold and cough. This will take time for normal life.
The same situation can be seen in private clinics. In every clinic the maximum number of patients are coming for viral fever treatment. The same type of rush can be seen in the shops of medical stores.
