GOUVERNEUR, NY – Board Certified Dermatologist Vladimir Fridkin, MD, FAAD, is providing Dermatology services in the Canton-Potsdam Hospital Specialty Suite at Gouverneur Hospital, 77 West Barney Street, Gouverneur.

Dr. Fridkin is American Board of Dermatology Certified, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD). He earned his medical degree at F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine of Uniformed Services, University of Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD; was an intern at Tripler Army Medical Center, Honolulu, HI; and completed his residency at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Washington, DC.

 "I recognize the need for quality dermatologic care in the North Country, and I am eager to provide that care for my patients through St. Lawrence Health. Accessibility to care is essential for timely treatment and positive health outcomes. My hope is to help expand dermatologic care options to North Country residents for years to come," Dr. Fridkin said.

 Dr. Fridkin was a Captain in the U.S. Army, and continues to serve as the Chief of Dermatology at the Guthrie Ambulatory Health Care Center, Fort Drum, NY.

"In my time at Fort Drum, I have grown fond of the North Country and the people who live here. It is a kind and welcoming community and I am eager to put down roots of my own in a place that has always felt like home," Dr. Fridkin said.

 "My professional areas of interest are skin cancer detection, treatment, and removal," he continued. "Through my education and surgical training in the US military, I am prepared to quickly identify and definitively treat the vast spectrum of dermatological conditions, including the most aggressive forms of skin cancer."

 He is experienced in providing medical and surgical services to his patients. As a Dermatologist, Dr. Fridkin specializes in treating diseases or cosmetic concerns of the skin, hair, and nails, along with the inside of the nose, mouth, and eyelids.
